Infant Development Specialist

Job Summary
Positive Support Services, LLC. is looking for highly motivated individuals who provide early intervention services to children ages 0-3. This is a part-time job opportunity to work in a child’s home. Infant Specialists arrange and keep their own schedules. They contact the families and set up the appointments at times that are convenient for both parties.

Job Responsibilities:
• Monitor the progress of assigned clients by regular observation and sessions.
• Each session is one hour and is provided in-home.
• Requires that the specialist drive from home to home providing the services. Services are to be specifically planned for a client and should encourage parent involvement as well as high child participation.
• Provide feedback on a regular basis to supervisors.
• Maintain open and clear communication with supervisor, team members and families to ensure quality services.
• Follow all general confidentiality, State of California, Regional Center, and HIPAA regulations
• Maintain professionalism and work ethic in accordance with the company's professional policies.
• Daily access to computer w/ internet access, printer, and smartphone. Technology literacy is required.

Essential Qualifications:
• 1+ years of experience working with persons with disabilities. Experience working with infants/children with disabilities preferred, but not required.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Knowledge of typical and atypical infant development.
• Ability to conduct Infant assessment with supervision.
• Infant intervention techniques or Family involvement in infant treatment.


Educational Requirements:
• Be in progress or in possession of a Bachelor's degree in child development/early childhood education.
• A valid license or certification in one of the following disciplines: Occupational therapy, Physical therapy, Special education, Psychology, Nursing or Speech and language therapy.

Infant Development Specialist

Behavior Technician

Job Summary
Positive Support Services, LLC. is looking for highly motivated individuals who provide one-on-one instruction for children with autism. This is a FULL TIME OR PART-TIME job opportunity to work in a child’s home in the afternoons and evenings in San Jose and the tri-valley.

Job Responsibilities:
• Implement individualized treatment programs based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
• Teach communication, cognitive, social-emotional, and adaptive skills to children with autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disabilities.
• Address challenging behaviors with supervision from a supervisor.
• Collect accurate and reliable data.
• Be supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).
• Maintain professionalism and work ethic in accordance with the BACB RBT Ethics Code and company's professional policies.

 

Essential Qualifications:
Completion of one of the following:
• Be in progress or currently enrolled in a course of study leading to an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, social work, behavioral sciences, human development or related fields.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working directly with typical or atypical children.
• 500 hours of experience in ABA techniques.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Have an interest in working with children and/or adolescents with special needs.

 

Highly Desirable Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, education, related or unrelated field.
• Completion of 40 hours based on the RBT Task List on Applied Behavior Analysis.
• One year of relevant experience working with children with autism and/or other developmental delays
• Ability to work independently

Behavior Technican

Clinical Supervisor (BCBA)

Job Summary
Positive Support Services LLC. seeks clinical supervisors (BCBAs) who can work with children and adolescents with autism and related disorders in San Jose and the Tri-Valley (Livermore, Dublin, San Leandro).

Job Duties
• Conduct initial assessment and ongoing assessments (for every treatment period) for children and adolescents with autism or related disorders utilizing appropriate assessment tools (e.g., Vineland-III, ABLLS-R, VB-MAPP etc.)
• Direct client programs and manage staff implementation of services.
• Supervise Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT).
• Design treatment plans and monitor and report client progress.
• Conduct Parent/Caregiver training.
• Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
• Complete 6-month progress reports (or insurance provider's timeline) and submit to insurance providers.
• Conduct Behavior Skills Training for Registered Behavior Technicians.
• Monitor clients’ progress and modify goals as necessary.
• Assist with training of generalization of skills across settings and people.
• Provide consultation to parents, family members, caregivers, Speech Therapists other professionals for service coordination.

                                                                                      
Requirements
• BCBA certificate
• Master’s degree
• Clinical experience utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis principles
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and train others
• Excellent oral and writing skills
• Bilingual is desirable but not required
